I am going to the hockey game here tonight as the guest of the local Bud distributor. Free tickets, free beer, free food, box seats. Looks like I will be drinking Amber Bock this evening. I will slip down and get some better beers during intermission, but I will not be able to drink them in the suite. I suppose I could, but that would be in bad form. I often drink the Amber Bock at the games anyway. There is very little to choose from at our arena.

If you can get Redhook, drink that and rub it in their noses! ;)

I try to be a gracious guest. They are giving me tickets and suite seets.

Suite! (I mean, sweet!)

Gracious is definitely the way to go. Better Amber Bock than Bud, right?

it seems like a seinfeld episode inthe making: you are the guest of A-B, but sneak away to drink micros in the bathroom between periods. naturally, you run into the president of a-b while your sneaking your sips. hillarity ensues.

anyway, i can think of worse things than free box seats and free beer. like, for example, paying for box seats and paying for beer!

congrats!

Way tp go brownbeard. I would do almost the same. I would probably chose not to drink beer, driving or child care reasons as an excuse.
I like the way you think. I used to work for an employer that often gave away tickets to SU basketball. Some of his employees would complain about seat location. I feel if they are free, you should not complain, and IMHO the seats were more than ok.

I dream about free hockey tickets!
..and free beer!

Two things that would make me really happy...

Well, I live a block from the arena, and the kids are with grandparents. I would use those excuses, but the actual situation allows me to get really smashed tonight. I am going to get home early and consume some homebrew before the game.

I don't blame you. I will not have any until after i get done playing tonight. My teammates are unhappy if I play the druken master style of goaltending. That is the style were you let the back of the net stop the pucks. Works well but not in the won-lost column.

It's uncanny...the back of the goal has never been known to miss!:D

Well, not quite true... Joe Sakic sent a wrist shot over Mike Richter's right shoulder that went in the goal, but bounced off the boards in back and landed on the right faceoff circle. The lamp went on, they consulted replay to confirm that the puck went between the posts and under the crossbar, and then spent 10 minutes looking for a hole in the net that wasn't there.... They gave Sakic the goal anyway! Yikes! GO AVS!!!

We now return this thread to the previously stated topic.... ;)

I'd like to start by saying the Avs stink, go Wild.

Well my night was free, but I am paying for the Budweiser this morning. We had a great time last night, and when your team is winning, even Bud tastes OK. Got really drunk, and today I have a monster headache.

Now for the good part. I went to pick up the kids and the grandparents this morning, and my future brother in law was there and asked me if I wanted his keg fridge, for FREE! He had already promised the faucet and lines to someone else, but the fridge was mine, already drilled in the door. He is the same future bro in-law that gave me a 5lb CO2 tank and regulator when I saw him on halloween. Not a bad addition to the family.

Suit yourself... nothing like rooting for a lucky team, I say. (Believe me, I'm familiar with the concept - I've been a Seahawks fan for 20 years, and every win they get involves a HUGE amount of luck!)

Two words - B VITAMINS. Find a really good B multi and have one just before you go to bed, and drink some extra water too. Minimizes the effect marvelously!

GO BRUINS. I am glad you had a good night brownbeard. I must say not such a bad future member of the family either.

Hey fret, I saw the same type of thing between the Bruins and Sabers once. A bruin shot a cannon from about 8 feet. No one knew where it went save for it came of the bac boards, In the replay an announcer noticed the water bottlle on top of the net move. Using ultra slow motion, you could barely see the puck. It went through the net but the ref had already ruled no goal. At the end of the period a Bruin made the linesman check the net. He dowered when he saw a huge puck mark on the twine. He just looked at the Bruin and shurgged his shoulders and threw his hands up in the air realizing wrong call.

And Brownbeard, even tho you had to pay for it in the morning, at least it was Free! And your team won!

You are all misled in your choices of hockey teams, although I do admire your enthusiasm for the sport.

GO STARS!!!

You do know that Bud(red)hook is owned in part by AB.......

I know we've covered this, but just what is the extent of the RedHook/AB relationship? Does Anheuser Busch have any real influence over the brewery?

Hey I agree with fretless vitamin B complex will really help with the ole noggin in the morning. A better way to get it in you - take a bottle of your homebrew, turn it upside down then upright a few times to get the sediment mixed in, then quaff the whole thing. A large glass of water after that and you'll feel as good as possible in the morning. Yeast cells are full of vitamin B complex.
