I'm looking for some collectable stuff from this old brewery as it was my grandfather's brand. He would rarely drink anything else, and I remember how mad he was when they closed the brewery in 1969 and the brand was taken over by Walter's in Eau Claire Wisconsin. He still drank it though, until he passed away in 1976. I think the reason for this brand loyalty was my great-grandfather worked at the brewery.
If you have anything, let me know.
Thanks!

I remember Bub's in the mid 1970's when going to school at UWEC and Walter's was brewing it. They also brewed Old Timer's and some others but I can't remember the names. Was back in Eau Claire a few years ago and drove by the old Walter's brewery and all had been torn down except I think a portion of the bottling building. Took some photos of what remained and also of the old Walter mansion about a block away and a mansion about two blocks away built for one of the family members, a daughter I think.
You may want to contact Chazwick as he has some familiarity with the Eau Claire area and may be able to direct you to Bub's memorabilia.

I read on another site this link (http://www.winonadailynews.com/articles/2007/11/27/news/02brewery.txt) on Winona Daily News that here was a plan to open a brewery at the old place. The article is dated November 2007 and said at the end "that renovation could begin in the building as early as January. Production then could start as early as July 2008." As yet I've not found anything more on this.
The family tale I got when I asked my dad was he believed that his grandfather got a job at the brewery as an assistant when he came over from Germany in 1871.
Thanks for the links, though I couldn't open the one you posted Steve.
