I'm just now looking for legal internships for my 1L summer of law school. I know it's a stretch but does anyone know of any beer organizations that have legal elements? Does CAMRA have a legal arm? --- interested in anyone's knowledge. Or I might end up working for a judge. Ugh.

Why not contact a brewer and ask them?

We do have a couple of brewers here (brewmonkey and cb) so I was tossing it out there because I thought they might know. Also rich english seems to know his stuff about CAMRA. I thought with the professionals we have here I could make a go of it!

I agree and thought that my suggestion was good too. I am also hoping that they do reply as they both seem to have alot of interesting ionformation.

Im sure AB, Miller, Coors etc. have big legal departments, all dedicated to keeping micros down and out, no doubt :-p
thats my one fear about becoming a lawyer, having to work for a big company i dont respect.
Perhaps there are international offices for some of the big foreign brewers tho that might have legal arms, or are there any big import companies that might have lawyers on staff? Beer is a pretty big business so you'd think there would be something.
If you find something cool let me know so i can try and do it next year :)

I would call the Association of Brewers (www.beertown.org) and see if they might have some info for you.
I would also suggest looking into the Brewers Association of America (http://65.23.136.214/) or the Master Brewers Association of America (http://www.mbaa.com/) .
I do not know if they have legal departments but I do know they are active in legislation as it concerns the industry.
Also check your PM's.

I was going to make the same suggestions as Brewmonkey. There are several lobbies who represent the brewing industry here in Washington DC. And of course, lawyers abound here too.
