hey guys,
this weekend will be my first time brewing a batch of beer.my wife got me a kit for x-mas,it will be an alpine amber ale.if you have any helpful hints i could use it would be great.i hope to be visiting this site many more times for the rest of my life.

Go to www.howtobrew.com. Dave Miller's posted the complete first edition of his book there (you can buy edition no. 3 now). You'll get more information there and in a far more organized manner than we could give you in a bunch of randomly sorted posts. Once you've read that, we can help you with whatever points you might have some difficulty.

Since the wife bought you the kit I can, from experience, give you one piece of advice. Include her in the brewing process some how. My wife helps me all the time and I feel it helps with my continueing to brew. Being that she helps me she feels involved. This gives her a feeling of ownership and a desire to want to see me succeed. So in return she continues to support me in my adventures. We both win... she feels good, and I keep brewing.

must be nice Fouled Anchor, my wife think its annoying. she dreads brew day.....
