Fair warning for anyone in the San Diego area: Tonight and tomorrow is Pizza Port's Strong Ale Festival! They're gonna have 60 different beers that are over 8% ABV. $25 gets you in the door, a free glass, and 8 taster tickets. Each additional 4 oz. taster ticket is only $1:-) Woohoo!

We went to the very first one they had! Pizza Port is probably the one thing I miss most about San Diego County. Have a good time & lift one for me.

This was ridiculously fun! It's amazing how complete obliteration can sneak up on you when you're only drinking four ounce tasters. Tasting...tasting....tasting....then at some point - stumbling...Good times.

damn.... wish I would have made it down. Had planned to, but then between not saving a dime for the trip and 2 hockey games over the weekend that I couldn't sell the tickets for, I had to pass this year. Next year.....

I thought the beers were good but other than the VIP session, the crowd was too dense to enjoy. Of course, the cold rain and standing water didn't help any. Next time I'll carry full rain gear and be prepared to enjoy no matter the weather!

I remember thinking the same thing at the Ommegang Festival a couple of years ago. After the first 6 six ounce tasters, I realized that I was going to have to slow WAY down. In fact, I think that there may be a pic floating around somewhere of the aftermath. I think that Clockworkorange or his wife took it.
