Beer belly? Oh thank goodness! I thought I was pregnant! Anyway, for the record, I failed miserably on the Evil Diet. I went almost three weeks and lost 10 lbs. Only problem was, I kept reading about delicious beer on this board and made myself mighty thirsty. Tortured myself. So I cracked and quit. I guess I'll have to go out and buy some size 38 waist pants now. No more diets that prohibit beer! Beer belly Schmeerbelly!

you did the right thing chaz! a man should take his beer drinking very seriously . he should not allow much interferance between him and his beer! and for the record; you lasted a lot longer then i would've
cheers
You know, we drank a lot of beer in the Army and never developed beer bellies.
Of course, I was an Infantry soldier, so we ran, climbed, and jumped all that off on a daily basis.
On the other hand, all that exercise left plenty of room to consume.
It's a vicious circle...

Physical activity is the key.
I run 2.5 miles two or three times a week and have managed to maintain my build for many years now. Plus it's just plain good for you.
I hate running, but I love the feeling when I'm done and can sit back and drink a few beers with absolutely no guilt whatsoever.
heh...you can get the same workout from a high cholesterol diet ;) btw, that's a joke!
i wake several miles a day and am on a modified akins diet...MY form of the akins diet allows beer and whiskey and martinis!

I got so worried reading articles about the deleterious effects of beer drinking that I gave up reading articles.
Now, at 61, I weigh 12 stone (168 pounds) and am 5' 11" high.
My father was approximately the same height and weight until the day he died at 83 (he was run over coming back from the pub and never recovered); my grandfather was shorter but also slim and he died by the fire, in his armchair, at 96 whilst waiting for my grandmother to bring him a beer (so I blame her!)
We none of us ever drank anything except Real Ale and good Scotch Whisky.
I don't know what that proves - but who needs proof?
