I am looking for a program that has recipes that I can choose then choose to do a 3 gallon batch and it figure it out for me......I know I am asking lots but does anyone know of a program like this?

Both Beersmith and Promash will let you enter a recipe and then scale it up or down. I assume the other programs will do that also. I don't know of a program that has a recipe library to choose from though.

thank you and promash does have a recipe database, one question though the program tells me for a 3 gallon mash I would need 14 gallons of water, I must not be doing something right is all, any ideas?

I use Beersmith and when you use the Recipe Scale tool, it automatically changes the water volumes. Also, when I downloaded it, it came with a fairly large number of recipes to get you started. You can also find lots of recipes on the web as well. Take a look at Brew-Monkey.com.
