Hi everyone:
I'm a new brewer in NYC who's getting into kegging. I was wondering if there were any other NYC homebrewers out there who might be able to tell me where I can get my CO2 tank filled in this town?
I called a couple local welding shops (as was suggested to me) and none of them will do it. Any other ideas? Thanks

I was told that there is a guy on 3rd Avenue and 15th Street in Sunset Park who will do it, but I haven't tried yet.

Thanks for the link, jesskidden...seems like a good organization.
So I spent a half day calling places and finally found one:
Stingray Divers in Williamsburg:
http://www.stingraydivers.com/
and it just happens to be like 6 blocks from my home, yay!
They normally fill CO2 tanks for paintball, so they can't completely fill a 5lb tank, but I was able to get about 3.5 lbs of CO2 in mine for like $15. Not sure if that's a good price or not, but I think it should last a while, right?

Another option would be a Fire Extinguisher Supply Company. That is where I go in metro Boston.

Which company do you use MadDog88? I just realized this morning that I should explore this avenue of getting my tank filled, because the only place I found so far only does exchanges (local HBS) and I'd rather not swap out this brand new aluminum tank.

Sorry, I havn't been on much. I last used Boston Fire in Lynn. They do refills but it costs about $20 if you wait for it. If you leave it they charge less. My is empty, but my fridge just died, so I guess I can put off refilling it for a while.
