Friday was my last day at my old job. I'm going away for a week (Hawaii), then starting the new job a week from Monday. Since I'm going back to that "Large software company in the Redmond, WA area", I thought it fitting that my next beer will be a Doppelbock, called "Assimilator".
See you guys in a week-

Before you take off how was the test yesterday?

Thanks for asking, Corky-
The test was last Sat. It was intense to say the least. I wrote for 3 hours non-stop (seriously, I was in mid-sentence when they announced "stop"). If you want to learn about beer, the BJCP is the way to do it, no doubt.
10 essay questions, 4 beers to taste.
Beer 1 was a blend of German Hefe's doctored with Lactic Acid. I nailed that one.
Beer 2 was a blend of SchwartzBiers. I did ok on that, as it was the first time I ever tasted a true SchwartzBier.
Beer 3 was a blend of Octo's doctored with 3 shots of Vodka. I screwed that up, saying it was too bitter, but not saying that it was too alcoholic, etc.
Beer 4 was a blend of DIPA's. I nailed that one, though I might have been too approving because I gave it a 45 when it was targeted to being a 40.
I couldn't remember a commercial example of Irish Red.
I don't know how many "low to no xxxxxx" should have been "low xxxxxxxxx is acceptable" and vice versa. That's where I will get nailed the most. I THINK i passed, but I will not be surprised if I didn't. No big deal. They are having the test again in Portland the 2nd Sat in Dec. I'm going to take it again as there is no reason I can think of NOT to take it. I am glad I took it, and am glad I am going to be able to take it again so soon while the classes are still fresh, I have 6 weeks to study, and it is within a couple hours driving distance.

Probably because there aren't many good ones out there! O'Hara makes about the best, but I'm sure >choke< Killians would have been acceptable!

That slight tingle that you feel at the back of your head is them taking control....don't worry, your assimilation into the hive will be painless--enjoyable in fact. They even supply towels to help control the eventual mindless drooling problem the we all develop....

I got out of that channel all together and now call Oracle my 800 pound gorrilla.
What product will you be working on?
I used to sell the MBS/Dynamics products.

Hey everyone, I was following a similar path, but have left the law firms to go work for politicians in Denver, and loving the beer out here.
anyone up for a beer let me know.
my only disappointment so far is I didn't make it out here till the day after GABF.

Wow, from legal to political. There are so many jokes to be made, but instead I'll just say good luck to both of you.
