I have just purchased my first kegerator( a true tdd-1). I am completely new to this and am looking to find out what I need to do. The unit is used off of a restaurant supply store, I purchased it on ebay. It has the double taps on it and I want to run 2 kinds of beer. All the lines are there. I am wondering what I need to buy to get this running. All I am getting is the fridge with the lines in it ( no co2 tank etc.) I am looking for any advice as I am very new to this and can't wait to drink my first cold beer, lol

Can you post any pics of it?

To start I would say that you would need a co2 tank, dual regulator or 1 regulator with a T, gas lines, gas line clamps, taps (type will depend on type of beer) and new beer line if the lines are not new (line is cheap so I would replace them anyway).

I think that is it.

Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to learn.

I finally have everything hooked up and will be purchasing my first keg in the next couple of days. It is going to be Labatt's Blue from the Beer Store here in Canada( a 20 L keg). I have the Sankey coupler and am wondering how do I tap the keg...do I tap it and then turn the c02 on? I am really new at this and just want to make sure I am not going to waste any beer...

Also I was told to have the psi set at 8-10 for this type of beer...does this sound right?

Thanks and I can't wait to pour my first beer...

your psi will depend on your been line length.

I tapped and then turned on the CO2, don't know if this is correct but this is what I did.

I have everything hooked up and enjoyed my first draft beer last night....Just one question, there is more foam than I would like when I pour a beer..... I am running labatt blue on one line and coors light on the other....I am at about 37-38 degrees and
psi of 9

Should I raise or lower the psi to help with this problem?

Thanks:)

you'll have to experiment a little. I'd increase it maybe 2psi more and see how it goes after a few days. the biggest problem with home kegerators is the temperature differential between the keg and the tower, although that should be mostly limited with your True unit. just make sure the fans in the top of the refrigerator are clean and pushing cold air into your tower...

When you adjust something, give it at least 48 hours for everything to adjust before you try to adjust again. Otherwise you can get your settings really screwed up. Also be sure to draw off some beer if you reduce your PSI setting, or else the keg won't "see" the change. 4 feet of line (does this include inside the tower?) is a little on the short side, so you may need to increase the length of that line to help stabilize things.
