This past weekend I wenting searching for some preservative-free cidre to ferment. Everything I found turned out to contain:
"1/10 of 1 percent potassium sorbate"
I take it this cidre will not ferment?
Anybody else having problems finding cidre toferment?

Pottassium sorbate will indeed inhibit fermentation.
I meant to start a new batch a few weeks ago, started to pick up the brand I've always used (Zeiglers) only to see it now had sorbate in the ingredient list, where it used to just say "Apples". Put it back.
Was at the store last week, same brand was now on sale, picked it up and looked at the label, no more sorbate. Brought ten gallons home. Funny thing is, the same brand packed in half gallon jugs listed sorbate. I'm thinking perhaps this vendor adds it at certain times of year depending on how fast they think it will sell.
You don't list a location, so I can't make any suggestions as where to look.

If you use the cider with sorbate, you might use some yeast energizer (1/2 tsp per gal) along with yeast nutrient in the same ratio. No guarantees, but it might go ahead and ferment. If you cant get fresh cider, pasteurized with no preservatives will work
