I don't know if this is only local to TX, but wanted to see if anyone has been to this place? I visited on business and sampled all their beers. Some good and some not so good.
I did, however try their seasonal pumpkin ale. Kinda a sweet beer but had a great pumpkin taste. I think this would be a great home brew, but wouldn't even know where to begin.
Let me know.

There's a BJ's in Denver near my GF's house - it's a somewhat regular hangout for us. Amazingly enough, I think the porter is their weakest offering. But there's plenty to make up for it. Good food, most of their beer is good as well, and every so often they have guest taps - last year they had Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, so SOMEONE is paying attention over there. :) Worth at least one visit.

I wasn't very happy with the Wheat beer. I'm not a pro yet, but there was something about it that didn't mesh well with me.
Here is a link the their BEER LIST (http://www.bjsrestaurants.com/list.aspx)

We have a BJ in El Paso, TX.
The Wheat beer was flat, no carbonation.
My home brew bodies make a better beer.

There is a BJ's in Plano. The beer is certainly their focal point. I wasn't too impressed with their food.

There are like 3 BJ's within a 20 minute radius from me and I really love this place. Personally I Love their deep dish pizza... enough about the food.
The Piranha pale ale is one of my favorite beers of all time. As for their other standard taps I am a fan of the PM Porter and just became a fan of their Hefe (when I had it a while back it seemed way off, but now it's perfect with a mellow banana flavor). The irish red isn't my favorite of beers and the IPA is so-so.
I just had their oktoberfest and it was great. They also make an oatmeal stout once in a while which is good. The witbier in the summer is fantastic also.
I did a writeup of them on my blog this summer.. feel free to check it out... http://trojangradstudent.blogspot.com/2007/07/brewpub-profile-bjs-restaurant-brewery.html

I think most of the beer is brewed by St. Arnold here in Houston. I know that the one here in South Houston, and the one in Arlington both don't brew their own beer they contract it out due to costs.
We have 4 here in AZ but I haven't taken the time to try their offerings. The only time I visited was when I picked up a bucket of cracked 2-row that the master-brewer donated as a homebrew prize. Unfortunately it was too early for them to open the taps for me.

Iwas at a BJ's in denver a couple summers ago. If memory serves the beers were alright. I was amazed though to still find Celebration on tap there in August.

Apparently a BJ's opened down the road from me in Temple, TX not so long ago. SWMBO found this out. We'll hopefully get a chance to go soon. Unfortunately, I can't see a place like this lasting long in this area. Not a lotta beer geeks around here. Maybe they'll make it on the strength of their German-style offerings (big German American population here).

All the BJ's in Southern California (and probably everywhere else) definitely do not make it by on beer geeks. In fact I would claim very few beer enthusiasts frequent any of the BJ's. Mostly it's people going for food, and an extra plus to be able to get a beer with it. Their most popular style they call their "Blonde" which is a kolsch. Many people unfamiliar with beer order that and it is something anyone can drink. Lots of large parties there, birthdays etc. It's just a fun place overall, and really fits into the sports-restaurant type of thing at appropriate time (very popular on Sundays for the NFL). Also, it's a full, very well stocked bar, not just beer, so many people go for their cocktails also. For the more adventerous they have Russian imperial stouts, IPA's, strong red ales, porters and always a seasonal or two. I hope the stuff is brewed as well in texas as it is here.

I was there last weekend. The one in Westminster. Didn't have any of their beers. Had to do the driving thing. Their fish and chips was pretty good.

I've tried many different pumpkin beers and have not liked any of them. BJ's has a great Pumpkin ale that I thought was great. Anyone else have this Pumpkin brew?

I've been to the one in San Jose CA (on the edge of the Apple Computer campus) and they're now building one just up the street here in Cincy.
