The Brasserie de la Senne (http://www.brasseriedelasenne.be/ ) is rather new and makes some quite special beers.
My new favorite beer is the "Taras Boulba", one of the hoppiest beers I have ever tasted.
Anybody heard of this?

Hello and welcome to the forums.
I can't say I've heard of the beer you mentioned.
Here in Prague the expansion of Belgian beers into the market is really just beginning to catch on. I think people are intrigued by the flavors but the prices are scaring many away.
To give you an example: A .33 bottle of Chimay at Pivo Klub will run you 150 Czk (5 Euro or $7.50). At Pivni Galerie it sells for 107 Czk (3.55 Euro or $5.35), the best overall price I've found so far for Trappiste beers.
Of course, the more exotic Belgian varieties cost even more.
By comparison, a bottle of any top drawer Czech beer costs less than one euro. Of course draft beer prices can vary widely but only reach 2-3 euro at the most expensive tourist traps.
Could you please tell me what some of the typical Belgian beers cost at the store and at the pub?
A beertour holiday to the Benelux countries is definitely in my future so I'm curious about what kind of prices I'll be looking at.
As for Belgian beers, I've really come to enjoy Westmalle, Trappistes Rocheforte and Duvel. I've found one restaurant in Prague which sells Duvel for 2 Euro a bottle.
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

Thanks!
I raise my glass of pivo in your direction and proudly say "na vaše zdraví!" to you.
When I had my customers in your nice republic (in Praha and Ceska Lippa), we used to drink some very nice "Gambrinus" that was at least as good as a Urquell or even a Budweiser (the real one of course).
Then there was the Kozel 11 (I think) that had a real smack of taste in it!
Here in Belgium it is becomming increasingly easy to find Polish beers (I really like the Zubr), but I am still looking to find Czech beer other than Pilsner Urquell or Budweiser.
Here, a simple draft beer costs 1,5 to 2 euro (for 25cl!).
If you go into a fancy bar and ask for a special beer, it will set you back between 2 and 6 euro...
No, it's not cheap!
The 2 euro for a Duvel is real good value for money in my opinion.
