Oh boy, who will be the first to slam Abita with a "luring minors with cartoon characters" accusation?

And encouraging crime- truck hi-jacking and unlicensed critters to drive. (But, I gotta say, even the ad execs who did the Budweiser frogs have got to be shaking their heads at this one. Please tell me it's meant as a *parody* of BMC- advertising...)
OTOH, has anyone tried this beer? It's been in NJ for several weeks now (so, unlike a lot of Abita, I can assume it's fresh) but I've long ago sworn off most "flavored" beers (fruit and spiced) unless I read a majority of folks who's tastes I respect say otherwise. (DFH's Festina Peche, being one recent example of a good one I avoided in the beginning). Altho', one of the very few flavored beers I recall liking was another "nut", a hazlenut porter (out of a NE brewery, but can't recall which one.)

Yes, I've tried it and I think it's great! I think it's worth the money and I'll be buying more this fall.

Thats true. They should be using professional athletes because minors don't listen to them ever.
I think next time Abita should use disney characters.

need I mention that the two clips are funny? I wish all commercials were that entertaining.
For those who are worried about the youth buying this beer by the case, try talking to them. Explain that Abita was trying to show that they used real nuts in the beer and that it in no way meant youth should be drinking beer. Then explain that if you find them buying beer, it will be taken away and they will be tied to a chair while a responsible adult drinks it in front of them. Believe it or not, they do listen sometimes.

Funny? I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder, too. I think "embarrassing" was the first thought I had and I still hope it's somehow a parody of a BM or C ad campaign, of which, since I don't watch sports, I don't see many.
OTOH, it's good to see that at least two of them picked up some work in their field, having been unemployed since Stegmaier went out of business in the 1970's.

I heard the third guy found Jesus, quite drinking and is working in the Korean animation industry.

It's decent (as is most of Abita's lineup). It has that Abita house flavor to it with a bit of a nutty flavor when warmed a bit. The pecan is totally drowned if the beer is cold.
