Maybe.

Although I was in Taiwan several years ago and was surprised at the number of British pubs with some really decent brews on tap.

yeah, it blows...but hey! check your damn tab before signing! sheesh!

i ALWAYS insist on seeing the actual tab before i sign a CC bill. of course, i also pay as i go, too, to avoid drunken confusion :D

Yeah, many would be surprised how much Chinese (Taiwanese are Chinese) are culturally much more similar to Americans/Brits than other Asian countries. Because of the economic partnerships between the US and Japan, it is assumed Japanes are "more like us" but in fact, they live on an island and have a very strange culture (to me anyway.) Contrarily, China is a communist country so they should be the next things to aliens from Mars (by our standards,) but educated Chinese are normally great with English and they typically have big hearts and are very friendly to other cultures. Hong Kong is a different monster due to the size of the city, just like any city with great size.
