Has anyone else had problems with their BYO subscription? I have yet to receive my September issue. It took several e-mails to get my July-August issue and did not receive it until the beginning of August. So far I am very disillusioned with the subscription. The magazine is good but I feel their customer service is sub-par.

I've been a subscriber since their 2nd year and have never had a problem.

I like the magazine and I hate to bitch but it is frustrating to pay for something and not get the service you deserve.

Blame the USPS.
Seems to be the easy scapegoat lately.
If you get your Sept. issue by the end of Sept.......be thankful.
Until then, relax and have a beer.

You don't have Sept issue because it hasn't be released yet. They come out every 2 months. The last issue, the one on their front page, is July-August issue. The Sept-October wont get shipped out the first part of September.

Actually, I got my Sept. issue about two weeks ago. Can't remember what the topics are however.

it's actually not quite every two months. they publish 8 times per year. the publication months are listed on one of the first couple pages near the index.

p.s. check out magazine subs on eBay. I've bought a number of them and recently got two years of BYO for like $18

just checked and it's up to $21 but still that's less than even the 1 year normal price. I've bought numerous magazines though this guy and have always had positive results. (swear i'm not him, just a happy customer)

here's the eBay item number: 290155030422

I used to get tons of free mags - Car & Driver, Road & Track, most mens mags like Esquire, GQ, etc., Sporting News and others. It was some industry magazine site where I'd get transportation industry mags sent to my office (that's the industry I'm in) and the others were comped just for checking out otherwise low-exposure trade journals/mags and such.

I eventually got overwhelmed with the number of mags I was getting and cancelled 'em all.

If I can ever dig up that website, I'll post it for you all. Or browse around yourselves. Lots of companies sponsor mag subscriptions just for being a customer or checking out their site.

Actually the mail date as per my account information was August 2nd. The October issue is supposed to go out on 9 September. I had no problems getting my first issue but since then I have to email them several times for each issue. Like I said, it is frustrating.

It's not necessarily BYO. See if you can find out what regional USPS hub services your area and talk to them. That may be what's holding up delivery.

Good advice and I will try that. Funny thing is I receive every other magazine I subscribe to on time. And god knows my bills find me.

Heh, somebody in your local post office likes to read your BYO before you.

I got mine last week or week before.

:)

Yup. When every other magazine and other bulk rate mail shows up like clockwork yet one magazine you paid for doesn't, you've every right to be upset. Take it up with the publisher. Ask them to extend your subscription by another month. A couple have done it for me as an apology - no questions asked, no excuses.

Having had friends and relatives in the USPS I'm pretty sure it's someone in the USPS chain who likes the mag. Sadly, it is commonplace for magazines to be diverted.

Heck, I subscribed to 4wheel and off road for 1 year. I received 1 issue. The rest 'mysteriously' disappeared in shipping.

I subscribed Sunday online and the confirmation said that the next issue would be the October issue and it will be shipping on 10-1-07 in case anyone is wondering when the next one ships

I got my September issue last week. I also had the company put a publication watch in with the post office. Maybe I will start getting them more regularly now

I didn't get my Sept issue. I emailed them from the BYO site and they were fantastic about getting me another copy out in the mail. I was extremely happy about the service.

I got November's issue in the mail today. I don't know if that is my free first issue, or if the USPS ate it and I'll get a bill for this one.
