What type of Frig is the best to convert?

Will a top mount refrigerator be able to support a 1/2 barrel or would it be better to use a freezer on top frig?

well a top mount fridge would have the same problem that people here often point out about using a chest freezer with half barrels, basically that you have to lift the half barrel up in the air, which if done on a regular basis is gonna be hell on your back.

If you got help to lift the keg, the top mount fridge would be better IMHO. You can then mount the faucet at possibly a better height without worrying about the freezer door hitting the handle. In fact even lifting the keg into the bottom of one of the mini-fridge type boxes I have is an awkward lifting position.

Thanks guys, so other than lifting the keg....the support would be fine? Would i need a metal plate or something at the bottom so the plastic would hold up over time?
