Hi guys,

Just thought I'd post a few shots of my humble Czech beerglass collection. These tall curvy, swirly wheatbeer glasses are my favorites.

You'll notice there's a couple of outsiders who snuck into some of the photos. ;)

Anyways, hope you like them. PP

Feel free to post yours also.

And a few more.....

In Prague, I have found only one place each where you can drink Policka or Chodovar from the tap. Two of my favorite places to hang out. Neither very fancy but so what, neither am I. The Policka pivo is one of my favorite brands, the dark 10' is creamy, rich and tastes SUPER! A perfectly balanced beer IMHO.

The Postrizinske glass came from a western style saloon pub in Brandys nad Labem (Little Hill Saloon). Classic malty light Czech lager.

And a few more......

The two easiest to find beers in CZ. They are sold quite literally in every town in the country.

Very undemanding flavors for mostly undemanding consumers. If I drink Prazdroj, I really try to get the unpasteurized version (tankovna) at a better pub. Otherwise, you almost can't tell it from Gambrinus nowadays.

I'll be trying to add on the older style glasses to my collection, they're much nicer looking than these I have to say.

And a few more....

Velvet is a semi-dark beer brewed in Prague at the Staropramen plant. Not really one of my favorites. If you want a really bold and tasty semi-dark, try Sedm Kuli by Ferdinand. It's great.

Krusovice is another quite popular beer easily found inside and outside of Prague. Really nice glassware, need to get some more, especially of their tall glasses I've seen with special etchings. There's one place in the Nove Mesto area that has unpasteurized Musketyr. Very tasty and not expensive.

Klaster is a quality beer, especially their light lagers, nice and malty. Their 11' dark can be rather hit or miss. Sometimes a little too sour or sweet, sometimes perfect. ?. Really happy I was able to score the older glass on the right.

And a few more....

The oddballs in the collection.

The curvy glass is a new addition, Budweiser Burgerbrau. The heavy mug is Policka and the Abbot Ale is a momento from my trip to London last year.

That's all folks!

Nice! I have only a few, maybe I'll post a picture. We definitely have to hook up when we visit Prague (not set in stone but we WILL) so I can find some off-the-beaten-path hospody!

When you come oneday we'll have to do a kvasnicove tour in and around Praha:

OldGott Barrique, Budvar, Policka, Prazdroj, Svijany, Musketyr, Cerna Hora, U Fleku, Nove Mesto Pivovar, Pivovarsky Dum, Pivovarsky Klub, Pivni Galerie, PodKovan, U Boluvka, Strahov in Praha for starters.

Berounsky Medved in Beroun, Pivovar dvur Chyne u Prahy, U Bouzesku in Pruhonice outside of Prague.

In three hours I leave for Plzen. Woo hoo!!!

You'll have to talk chazwicke into taking some pics of his vast collection... I hear it's quite extensive!

I like tall beer glasses as well - lets me give the beer a good hard pour so I can "wake it up" a bit. :)

I agree. They let the beer breath a little and look so classy in the process. Great beer deserves a great glass. It just adds to the experience.
