My thoughts on the Storm King:
Roasty malty aroma. Pours nearly black with a thick, craggy, tan head. I bought this today (Nov.1) and it must have been a fresh shipment as the label says it was bottled a mere 9 days ago! Huge body and mouthfeel. Initial hit of hops gradually lends its way to a miriad of other flavors. The roated malt is prevalent. Raisin, figs, mincemeat pie...wonderfully complex. The alcohol is warming but not overly so. This beer will get you through most any November or December evening! It's reputation is truly deserved! I'm sure A-B's stout could measure up to this! (ya, right!)

DrunkenIrsihFan:

If you're fortunate enough to reside in Syracuse, take advantage of the REAL beer scene in town. Immediately dispose of any and all Miller Lites that you have in the house, and open yourself up to the wonderful world of craft beer. For starters, the Middle Ages brewery in Syracyse makes a wide range of great beers, and they're bound to have one that you'd really like.

If Middle Ages doesn't do it for you, then you need to check out a couple of terrific beer bars in Syracuse that offer stuff from all around the world - The Blue Tusk and Clark's. Trust me, you'll thank the great folks here at Realbeer.com for changing your beer life!

I drink Harp Lager at the Tusk and enjoy the Roast Beef sandwiches at Clarkes Ale House.
