I got some bitter wort today. My question is will it mellow?
Expected OG: 1.094
Actual OG: 1.086
Brix: 21
don't know if these numbers will help. If needed I will post the recipe.

Just looking at the gravity and judging by my past experiences with bitter tasting wort, I would say it should balance and mellow some. It may just require additional time to age.

Bitter = Good!
wort bitterness never tastes as good as the cold, aged, carbonated product; if it did, who would bother to bottle?
How much hops in there?

Here is the recipe:
Black Liq"IRISH"
Extract / Specialty Grains
--------------------------------
2 lb Muntons Amber DME
2 lb Muntons Dark DME
1/4 lb Crystal 80L
1/4 lb Caramunich
Hops
-------
1/2 oz Northern Brewer AA 7.1%
1/2 oz Fuggles AA 4.0%
Yeast
--------
Pitchable Tube
Irish Ale yeast (Wyeast 1084)
hope this will help.
PS...Any ideas why Muntons amber DME is the same color as Laaglander light DME?

I assume that your extract was unhopped, and that's not enough hops to be super bitter at all.
Only cause for worry is if you boiled instead of just steeped those specialty grains, and got tannins, which don't taste too great ( a nasty tangy taste).
Otherwise don't worry about it, I would say .... :)
given the gravities posted, i'm going to assume that this is a partial batch (i.e. something like 2 gallons).
i've found a lot of my worts to be bitter after boil...they usually settle down...well, except for the ones that were made to be bitter, that is :D

This was a two gallon batch and no I did not boil the grains. Almost made a mistake and used 1 oz of each...THAT would be bitter.
