so i recently moved to lovely madison, wi. this pace is great! i can ride my bike to work!
anyway i've been brewing alot as i am part time employed and have made some typical hits and misses. anyway no matter how the beer tastes i ave noticed one thing: the beers are always cloudy. now that may be due to my going straight to keg from primary(which is new to me as i am new to kegging). i'm not sure. so the most recent beer (IPA) was dry hopped in a glass carboy to see. i have noticed when i brew and i boil my water the night before and drain into the HLT there is a white tasteless powder surrounding the kettle. is this stuff making my beer cloudy? is the bicarbonate? would this also lead to the 'sharp bitter' aftertaste to some of my IPAs?
thanks much!
