just finished building my wort chiller. i dry ran it on the sink and it worked great.
i used 20' of 3/8" copper tubing........$23.66
laundry hose for the sink connection....7.45
vinyl tubeing for the exit pipe...............3.29
3/8" stainless clamps 2@.85................1.70

$36.10
not bad considering a store bought one is about $45

can't wait to test it out on my next batch! :D

Copper must be cheap where you live. To get the same about of 3/8" copper tubing here is about $50.

ya man you got that copper at a steal! thats Great for you! have fun with it and i have 25ft of 3/8 and takes about 20mins to chill my full boil wort. its always more fun to work with equip you build

On a side note, this little story. I had my wortchiller sitting in the sun out in my backyard. You could see it from the street. The news here has had stories about people stealing copper from job sites and such. My wife, the sweet heart, brought my wortchiller inside as she was afraid some one might steal it for the copper.
