For those of you who brew cider and beer do you ferment the cider in the same primary bucket/carboy you use for beer? I just did this (plastic bucket) and I couldn't help but notice a beer smell emanating from the hot must in the fermenter.
Actually it wasn't all that bad of a smell :D

Next time bleach your bucket between batches....
(remember to triple rinse too)
Bleach will get rid of smells and flavors from previous batches.

I do wine and beer. The only in common vessels are glass. I use a large (24 gal) plastic fermenter for wine and 2 6.5 glass carboy primaries for the beer. Secondaries are 5 gal glass carboys.
