I remembered my older brother used to homebrew so I asked if he had any extra gear laying around. He said to come on by and we'll dig around his garage attic.
The take:
3 carboys
2 bottling buckets
1 fermenting bucket
5 cases of bottles in the old style cases (the thick, sturdy cases)
3 empty old cases
1 box of lose gear (stoppers, hydro, air locks, etc etc)
On the down side my brother uses his garage for a wood shop and he hasn't brewed since 2002 so I have some major scrubbing to do.
There are 2 carboy handles that are a hinged metal (plastic dipped) that go around the neck of the carboy. Is this style of caboy handle okay to use?

Great haul.
The handle sounds similar to the ones I have. They're fine for lifting empty carboys but don't use them to lift a filled one. The neck of the carboy isn't strong enough to support all that liquid weight. (Although I'm about as guilty as can be for going against my advice on that one).

I've seen a few places that sell them post explicit warnings *not* to carry full carboys with those handles, they are for moving empty ones only!

Wow, nice score. Follow the advice above on the carbot handles.

Thanks, I will not use the handles when the carboys are full.
I cleaned one of the carboys and found they get slippery when wet. That's probably the only time I will use the handle as I really have no trouble handling a dry/empty carboy.

dont know if you have it but a bottling wand, a capper, some caps, ans sanitizer. Although you could use some bleach and water to sanitize just rinse well. Other then that i think you have just about everything and definitly a nice grab.
