Does anyone have an AG recipe that approximates McEwan's Scotch Ale? I have been researching this on the net and have been coming up with little in the way of a definitive recipe. I usually create my own recipe but I have never done a Scotch Ale before and I have always really liked McEwan's. In some of the sites I found there has been some reference to lactose being part of the recipe? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I believe you'd want to use Golden Promise malt.....

I already had that plugged into my recipe that I was making up on my own. I also believe their should be Special B malt and probably biscuit malt. The rest I'm not so sure. Thanks for the agreement in base malt though.

I honestly do not have a clue, but the combination fo those three malts, along with some scottishale yeast does not sound bad....

There is one in Beer Captured. I brewed it in the fall with a few minor changes. Centenial for bittering and used white labs edinburgh yeast. Such a hit at club meetings and with friends that I was able to save three bottles to age properly!
