Another kegging question.
How do the people here run 2 kegs off of one reg? The supply store suggested using a standard dual gauge reg and using a one-foot piece of gas line to connect a T to both kegs.
Are you still able to force carbonate this way?
What are the advantages to using a double CO2 reg, that can independently control the keg pressures?
Thanks!

You can still force carbonate. You may want to remove the disconnect from the one keg when you force carbonate the other keg. The disconnects can be disconnected under pressure. So you could disconnect one keg, crank up the pressure and force carbonate the other.
Or, you could slip a shutoff valve into each side of the Y to make things easier.
Having the double regulator will help when you have two different styles of beer that you want to carbonate at different levels. Some beers seem to need more pressure to produce the same amount of head.
Another option is to just use a single gas line and switch it from one keg to the next. I generally leave the co2 tank turned off and let the kegs pour under their own pressure. When the pressure in a keg drops too low to get a good pour, I attach the gas line to the keg in question and open the tank valve and let it recharge the keg.

I use the last option. I leave the gas line disconnected most of the time. I go out every afternoon and give each keg and shot of gas. And of course I have to do random pressure tests after that to make sure the beer is still good.

everyone above has given good advice. one more piece of advice to add, any time you run more than one keg, invest in check valves. Quickest way to ruin a regulator is to suck liquid into it...
advantages of having a dual regulator? I have both beer and soda on tap in my chest freezer, and soda generally requires a higher pressure.... (I run my root beer at 30 psi, and my beer at 10 psi...)

I looked at the ball check valves, do you just put one on the end of the reg and then attach the gas hose? The ones I saw said that they attached to Wye adapter…
