I don't if you guys noticed but Nov 1st is AHA's "Teach A Friend to Homebrew" Day. I already have one guy lined up and I'm gonna try to get at least one more. I'm gonna do an extract brew for simplicity's sake.

Time to do your duty as a homebrewer - with great power(the ability to make beer) comes great responsibility.

That is great. I did not know that day existed. I know model railroaders have a take a train to work day so I should not be surprised at homebrew day. I don't know of anyone who wants to try but I am slowly creating a bunch of non swill drinkers among my hockey buddies.

Our local homebrew club and LHBS are joining forces and setting up a demo for the public! Good for all concerned!

Try to get one of your hockey buddies to start - show 'em how easy(and addictive and fun and cost effective) it is to make great beer ;)

I got one of my friends hooked last year. My wife says her boss is always asking her when I am going to brew. He would like to learn how. Maybe I get him over to the house that weekend and show him.

OK, here's a question. A bunch of my brewing buddies are planning on taking our turkey fryers to a guys house and starting a guy up on his first brew. Now the question, if we put our brews in the primarys and then drive across town, it should be OK, as long as it is not splashing too much, right? We are all doing batches and each of us will be taking them home with us at the end of the day.

Yes they'll be fine as long as the splashing around occurs after you've cooled the wort.

That's what I figured too. Plus it may help in adding additional aeration as well.

I'm still learning myself, but my Housemates should learn so that I am not the only one making what is drunk by all!

I'll be out of town on teach a friend how to brew, so I did hold a little gathering at my place last night.

I invited a few guys from work and we sampled great pumpkin ale, brown nut ale and a scotch ale. One guy brought over a pumpkin pie we had a good time.
