Featuring the 7 breweries of Regensburg county just like last year and if that isn't enough it can be combined with the 2 Regensburg brewpubs who are not invited.
Anyone showing up ? Let me know :)

Don't forget to give us a report after the fest. We'll all live vicariously through you.

So, obvious question - I think, why aren't the brew-pubs invited?
How big is the county?

There are 3 brewpubs (compared to 10 actual breweries) and 2 of them are in walking distance of the fest anyways so one could "expand". The last one is out in Kallmünz and 35 km are a bit far to walk for a beer.

How big is the county? It's 2 counties actually since the City of Regensburg has county status itself. City and County together have 1474 km² (I'm not sure but that should be around 885 square miles ?) and a total population of 310,000 people.

Why is that, do they not feel the pub brewers are worthy, or is it some weird union type of regulation? Just curious as to the division - I'd think brewers of a feather would stick together.

They are an association of breweries and only places that bottle are considered breweries over here. Germans and their need to file everything I guess :D

Well, then what do they call a place that mixes malt, hops, water, and yeast and creates wonderful nectar?

I don't believe the Forschüngsbraüerei bottles, and there's no mistaking what they make as anything but delicious beer!
