anybody used these hops before? I ordered 2 oz from freshops just for fun. I've never used em. but in the description, it says lemony.. so I thought it might work in a few different brews (wheat comes to mind)
anybody have any experience with them?

I misread, I thought it referred to the soreass I just got paying my taxes.
Never heard of these hops, almost sound Japonese.

Corky they are Japanese hops. they are the hops that they use in Sapporo.

I'm thinking of expirimenting with this hop over the next winter, I'm thinking it would be interesting in an IPA or some Bitters.

exactly.. the description on them is: "Unique lemony aroma... Developed in Japan at Sapporo Breweries. Pedigree; Brewer's Gold x Saaz. High yield potential.
high alpha acid potential 13-16% "

Mine show 12.5% AA. I thought it might make an interesting brew with the lemon notes.

not sure when I'll get to them, but we'll see. I was going to take a pic of the freshops order.. 4 pounds of hops sitting on the counter sure is a damn fine sight (along with goldings, willamette and cascade rhizomes)

Fresh Hops is harvesting now?

I was thinking that the lemony flavor might work well in a hefe or a wit.....

Cascade has a citrus flavor (kind of grapefruity)
I think that the Sorachi Ace hop may fit in nicely in an IPA. I'll wait untril the fall to order these hops.

Hey Paul......be sure to vacuum seal those hops, and freeze them.

they all came vacuum sealed except for the fuggles. I ordered 2 pounds to split with friends here.
for the sorachi ace, I only got 2 ounces.

I was thinking about the sorachi ace in a hefe or even something like the happy wife beer or the lemon lingerie recipe in the recipe area
