Usually gets packed. Price has risen this year, I believe, in an effort to control crowds without simply enforcing a hard # of attendees. Though they will allow fewer people into the fest at any one time. They'll also sell advance tix if you know which session you're going to.Ticket holders get in first and once the hall is full, others have to wait for fest goers to leave in order to gain entry.
Some have voiced concerns as there is no guarantee of what's going to be poured on any one night. It's up to the beer to decide. Best nights used to be during the week, though the fest organizer vows to take steps to keep more British beers around until the weekend.
The changes have rankled some people. Ah well. If you like cask ale and can plan ahead, buy your ticket and enjoy.

I've never been, but I'm going this year. I'm going on the last Saturday, so I fear I'll be missing some of the better beers, but it's the only time my work will allow me to go.

IMO NERAX is a great take. I enjoy cask ales and this is one of the few events that specializes in the product. The venue is extremely small and can get very crowded but the show draws a good, beer-appreciative crowd not the chuggers looking to get drunk quickly like at the big amphitheatre events. And to answer your question, yes, I am going this year. :D

I have attended in the past, and it was pretty cool. The atmosphere is bare bones with no frills -- it's all about great cask beer.

It sounds like a great event. I've been to Jeff Brownings BruRoom real ale festival in New Haven in the past and to several SPBW Real Ale Events in Baltimore. Also the first two FABfests in South Beach where they brought British brewers and 60 or so different cask ales for tasting. I should try to make this. We'll see.

This will be my first real ale festival. I'm very excited.
