Ok, I got funding for a grain mill!! :-D

First, I want to say that I'm really kind of shocked at the distinct lack of selection in mills at B3! What's up with that?

So I'm looking at the ones over at Northern Brewer and I'm wondering if anyone has these models, which variations of the models you have and all that.

I'm also wondering if anyone has the uber-adjustable models, and if they've found them useful, and why. I understand, of course, that you can have more control over your crush, but have you actually taken advantage of that at all, or have you just kept it in one position the entire time? In other words, is this control worth the added cost?

If others are using different models, send on the links!! :-)
Also, if there's a model you *know* sucks, let me know that too (and why).

Thanks a bunch!

I have the 3 roller crankandstein and I love it. I didn't need the adjustabilty, but the 3 roller has a nice detented adjustment

The Eagle Has Landed:

I found a couple of other threads about the crankandstein 3-roller model, and since everyone and their mother seems to adore it so much, I went ahead and ordered the model 3D crankandstein.

I will, of course, need to somehow fashion a hopper for it, so if anyone has ideas on how that might easily be done, lemme know!

The base is no problem - I have a router, and I'm not afraid to use it! I also have lots of wood in my basement wood shop.

Well since you bought one then I don't need to tell you how nice it is.

As for the hopper, Crank&Stein sells a nice hopper add-on. If you don't go for that the roller casing does have bolt holes drilled & tapped so it will be easy to bolt on a hopper base board with a hopper attached to that.
