Today is my 40th (XL for you Romans, 1001000 for those binarily inclined) so what should I drink to celebrate? I had a Guinness with lunch since nothing else was available and to be honest it tasted very good. But I'm looking for something more tasty for a happy hour beverage (before racing home to watch the weans).

I respect the widsom of my elders and the fresh opinions of the young 'uns.

happy happy! my 40th was last year, and I believe I celebrated with a 750 of Duchesse de Bourgone. was very tasty, as usual...

but since you're talking happy hour, I guess we'd need to know how good of a bar you're going to. last week I stopped at our local and had a glass of Urthel Hop-it, which was very tasty. it had all that Saison perfum-y goodness, but with a bunch more hops.

Happy 40th! I saw this too late. I was going to suggest 4 different 10th anniversary brews from different breweries. And then a nap. (well, I suppose it could've been an 11th, 2 12ths and a 5th, but that's just crazy talk...)

Last year for my 40th my wife surprised me with a trip to San Diego and on my birthday I visited Pizza Port Carlsbad, Stone, Alesmith and Coronado Brewing. We tried to find Green Flash and got lost and no one picked up the phone to give directions so we had to skip it. The only disappointment of the trip (besides La Jolla Brewing). During that 5 day trip we hit 12 different brewpubs and breweries.

Ta all. As it happens it was 40ozs (ok a bit more) of Tuppers Hop Pocket Pils (pre Costal/AB takeover). Oh and some Wasmunds Single Malt.

I think some sloppy joes got ate.

Plus as a gift the wife gave me a pass for the next DC United game.

I hate to be a stickler, but shouldn't it be 101000? I'm having an eighth-grade math flashback over here....

I do believe you're right.... 101000 is correct. 1001000 would have been 72, right?
