I was at Famous Liquors in Lombard and saw a 4-pack of Goose Island Imperial IPA. Had to try it, even if it came out to about $4.50 a 12 ouncer.

A pretty good effort to balance the super-hopping with malt. the hops are listed as Tettnang, Simcoe, and Cascade. The west coast hops come through loud and clear, I really can find the Tettnang, though. Not a bad effort at 9% ABV, but I'm not sure it's worth the money.

It's on draft (not draught) at the Firkin in Libertyville too.

Haven't tried it, though.

It's on my short list of beers to try.

Sounds good, I'll have to give it a try.

I had the Bourbon County Stout and was overwhelmed. Couldn't drink it. I'm not much on beer tasting notes, but the head was a ridiculously dark copper color, and it was as thick as molasses. Bitter as hell doesn't begin to describe this beer. The alcohol taste was far too prevalent as well. Bleh!
