If one were to take a vacation in Belgium and wanted a good book to guide them in their Belgium beer explorations, what book would you recommend?

I've seen Tim Webb's books and had thought of getting the "Good Beer Guide to Belgium".

I think Micheal Jackson's Great Belgian Beers is the definative book on the topic. It isn't an encyclopedia of diferent beers listed alphabetically, but a description of the different styles, mentioning the standouts in each catagory. It also lists worthwile pubs in different cities.

I'll be there April 20-23 and planned on buying both books listed. Plus a ton of internet research, and a ton of liver conditioning. :D

Don't forget to visit the Delirium Cafe. It's tucked away in a small cul-de-sac just off the Grand Place. It's almost opposite the Jenekke Pis (less well-known sister of the Manikken) and you can find out about it here http://www.deliriumcafe.be/

When I was there they had over 2,500 different beers.
