Have you guys tried the Mexican microbrews that are stating to pop up?
These are great. I have tried the following:
From Tijuana Brewing Company:
Tijuana Guera
Tijuana Morena
From Cucapa Brewing Company:
Cucapa Barley wine (this was top 9 out of 54 in Toronado Barley Wine festival in SF)
Cucapa Clasica
Cucapa Obscura
Cucapa Triguena
I know they sell these in different parts of San Diego - I don't know about anywhere else. I highly recommend them.

Glad to see more craft brewing going on south of the border. Welcome to the board.

Well I highly recommend them - I know some of these beers are getting distributed in northern cal and Arizona but I am not sure where.
I am a big fan of the liar's club here in SD so I thought I would start being more active on this forum :)
Salud!

Are any of these available in Cancun? I will be heading there in next week and was hoping to bring (and sample) some unique Mexican brews not available in the Midwest US.

TJ brewing makes some very good brews. I highly recomend visiting the pub in Tijuana if you haven't already done so. The price is very inexpensive, I paid less then 6 dollars for 4 beers. The pub itself is beautiful with stained glass, wood bar and old fashioned czech style tap handles. I don't think they see many gringos there. I was kind of a curiosity to the staff, but they very much appreciated my business. The manager/owner was very friendly and tried really hard to tell me about the place and its history, but didn't speak eglish all that well. They have a full menu and the food looked decent but I didn't eat anything.
