I bought a keg before I got my temperature controller installed in my chest freezer. So this morning I go to pour some beer and I got nothing. I am guessing that it froze. I have my controller on order and I am just turning the freezer on and off with a timer at intervals. My question is: How bad will the beer be after it has thawed and I am able to get it flowing again? Did I just waste the $100 on the keg? It is a great beer too. I am an idiot.

Thanks for any insight

RDWATAHB.

(the t above stands for thaw).

Just let it thaw out at room temp for a couple days. You'll find that the beer will be very bright and clear after that, as the freezing will drop any yeast and hazing proteins out of suspension.

In short, the beer will be fine.

It may just be the hoses that are frozen, so once they thaw give it a shot.
