I put a thread on a while ago, and it was suggested to me to get seat forward faucets. Are faucets normally like this? I haven't been able to find any that say if they are or not.

Standard faucets have seats at the back end, leaving a lot of the faucet exposed to air so the last few drops stay inside and then get moldy. The 2 forward seating faucets I know of are Perlicks and Shirron. I have Perlicks and they work great, some people swear Shirrons are better but I don't know. Perlicks are a little cheaper.

VentMatic came up with the design originally, then Perlick introduced a faucet that was so similar that a lawsuit followed. the lawsuit was settled, but I don't know the details. VentMatic later went broke, and the design was purchased by Shirron, leaving us with two current vendors with functionally identical faucets.

I own six of the original VentMatics and absolutely love them. Nobody I know who has them has ever regretted the purchase. I know people with both, and they are essentially the same in form and function. I personally wouldn't buy Perlicks, but that's simply due to my opinion on the intellectual property issues...

I waited 6 months while the Ventmatics creator was undergoing treatment for cancer, and eventually gave up and bought the Perlicks. If there had been sense that there would ever again be Ventmatics I might have waited. But I'm happy with my Perlicks and they are far superior to my old standard faucets.
