True kegerator

I recently purchased a used (approx 3 years old) True kegerator Tdd-1. I't seems like the compressor kicks on alot. It runs for approx 10 minutes then shuts down for about 20 minutes and then runs again. The room temperature is approx 65-70 degrees, and the unit maintains 38 degrees. Is this normal for a True to run so much? Thanks for the help.

You might want to check amd make sure the compressor has proper ventilation. You might also check to make sure the fins are clean.

Ok, so I guess you agree that is running excessively. Thank's. It is getting good circulation of air. I'll clean the fins. I hope it works. If not, I guess I'll call for a service call. Thanx again.

Something else you might want to check is the door gasket and make sure it is sealing tightly

Have the same issue. I had to replace the thermostat 3 times. Finally had a commercial grade one put in. Thing still runs for about 5 minutes, kicks off for 9-10 minutes then kicks back on again for 4 to 5 minutes. Not sure what else to do with this unit but I would never buy a TRUE unit again.

That's the first substantial complaint I've ever heard about a TRUE. Admittedly I favor Bev-Air but both are widely considered to be the best on the market.

I noticed I had condensation around my door gasket so I replaced the door gasket. I also used silicone over the door, under the stainless steel top. This seems to help alot.
