Just out of curiousity, what beers do you love that you can't get in the country you live in.

I enjoy quite a few beers I can't get in Canada (Ontario).

I wish I could get them here, so when I go abroad I try and pick them up.

Some I enjoy to bring home are:

- Carling Lager - U.K.
- Coors Original - U.S.A.
- Boreale - Quebec
- Hoegarden Grand Cru - Belgium
- 1664 Grand Cru - France
- Smutty Nose IPA - U.S.A.
- Circle Master - U.K.
- Eric's Red Cream Ale - Newfoundland
- San Miguel - Spain
- Flying Dog Classic Pale - U.S.A.

Just to name a few....

Circle Master is fine - one of the 2000 plus excellent beers we brew in the UK. But Carling (a truly foul chemical concoction) was originally Canadian and is now manufactured by the Coors Fizz Factory.

None of the other beers are very special - check out the beer section of this site for some suggestions of quality beers or look at the UK site http://www.bottledbeer.co.uk/ for more ideas.

And, incidentally, there are now some fine beers brewed in Canada - even in Ontario.

I lived in the U.K. in 2005, among others I miss is anything from Wychwood, Fullers, Abbot to name a few. Frankly I miss going to Morrisons every Saturday and browsing through the beer section. Oh, and Gregs. I really miss the Cornish pasties! Also, god I miss a good Scotch Egg!

The beers that I miss the most though are Real Ales (Cask conditioned). You can get them in Toronto, but even there it is hard, and they arn't the same as having them in England.

There are plenty of good beers in Ontario that I neglected to mention of course. I am just noting beers that 'you can't get at home'.

Carling has been apart of Canadian Brewing for sometime now, Black Label being a notable example, and even though it is fizzy swill as it were brewed by Coors UK, I do love Lager, and still miss a regular Carling, bottle that is.

Thanks very much for the link, I will check out that website, and if you havent gone to the west coast (B.C). I think it was B.C. you were traveling to, have a great time. There are alot of great Micro's there.

Cheers, cattersley.

I'm going to BC (via Chicago) in April.

I understand that Tin Whistle (brewed in Penticton where I shall be staying) is a good drink.
