I ran across this article earlier. It would be great if this happens, home distilling might be right around the corner. Pay attention Hogie, you might get your wish.

I thought by law that breweries could not distill. I must be wrong or is there a loophole?

The laws are state by state, Dogfish Head has a distillery on the second floor of their brew pub and they make some great stuff. However unlike wine and beer, there is a federal law against any kind of distilling without a license, even if you don't sell it. Microdistilleries are good, but legalizing home distilling would be alot better. I prefer hobbies that don't involve looking over my shoulder for ATF agents.
