I recently made a hoppy brown ale and decided that rather than dry hop in the secondary or keg, I would do it in the primary after vigerous fermentation had subsided. Mainly because they were pellet hops, and I didn't feel like racking it again after the secondary. I just tossed them in the carboy. Has anyone ever used this method and what were the results? I figured that the only difference is that there will be more trub.

You may not get all the aroma you were hoping for if fermentation had not completed as the CO2 coming out of solution will scrub it away.
