Anyone have any good recommendations for beer in Ontario...I find the beer store just does not have much of a selection...and the LCBO I think is worse...most of the stuff I try there tastes old?

some of my favs from the beer store are:

Mill St. Tankhouse Ale
Mill St. Coffee Porter

Mill St. is a micro brewery out of the Toronto area.

Magnotta IPA, yes from the wine maker a nice IPA tho!!!!

some of my favs from the LCBO:

Hockley Valley Dark, a really nice brown ale!
Rogue Chocolate Stout

There really is little choice here in Canada, the big breweries just produce garbage in my opinion but just wondering if anyone has found something really special in my area?

If you are in the Campbellford area, the Church Key brewery have some fantastic beers. Check out the website.

I discovered Creemore Springs last summer and it's one my new favourites.

Catterseley - those beers from churchkey brewing look good, I'll have to stop by the next time I'm out that way. The cheese factory was always on my list, I never knew there was a brewery out there.

I do the cheese factory (gotta have the extra old white cheddar), chocolate store (Worlds Famous), and Church Key in one swoop. Chocolate, cheese and beers. Whats not to love eh!

Church Key's cranberry wheat & ginger ale are my favs.

Mmmmm those beers sounds tasty.

I'm gonna have to go camping at Ferris this summer and make those stops when I'm out there.

I've tried the pepperoni cheese and that was really tasty. I'll have to try the extra old white cheddar.

Thanks, I have tried Creemore Springs and yes I like it as well, however I much prefer hoppier brews or darker brews.

The Campellford experience sounds awesome, a little hike from where I am in Kitchener but perhaps a day trip will be in order this summer!!!

Has Creemore expanded their area?

While I haven't had any Creemore in 3 years, I sure miss it.
The visit to their brewery was a great experience for me. The head brewer was real down to earth.

Cremore was sold to Molson. They are sold all through Ontario's beerstore, and LCBO's. They are trying to launch this as national brand in the comming years to compete with Labatt's Alexander Keith's IPA, so if you don't live in Ontario, you will likely see it through Canada soon enough.

After reading the other thread about Lakeport being swallowed up by Labatt, that makes me sikk.

You Canadiens are showing your socialismin in your brewing.

Thank God for the open market in the US.
