Stella is available in certain areas of Ohio. About six months ago, it was re-introduced in the Columbus market (I know, because I had some at a local pub in Easton), and from what I've heard, it's also available in Northeast Ohio. Where are you in Ohio?

I imagine you want Stella Artois because its belgian and belgians typically make the best beer in the world. Stella Artois is the coors of belgium. You could at least search for Duvel, or any belgian beer actually worth searching for that matter. ;)

Herb Ninja;
You imagine incorrectly, sir!! I seek it because I have enjoyed it in the past. It was several years ago.
However, as I am not knowledgable about the gems on the beer landscape, I will certainly seek your suggestion as well. The Belgian beers certainly seem excellent. What are a few others you may recommend that I might obtain in Ohio. Besides enjoy some particularly sublime Belgian beer that sends the afficianado through the roof, what is a nice, smooth "daily drinker"???
Thanks

Hey man. Drink what you like. I, personally, think Stella is a bit bland and not indicative of the Belgian beer scene, but that's just me. Never drink a beer because someone else likes it and tells you, you should also. Listen to your taste buds.
As far as everyday Belgian drinkers go....plenty of good refreshing wit beers out there to choose from. Light, dry/quenching and a touch of spice. I love the Allagash White and Hoegaarden (the original) can be tasty as well. And though I'm not sure whether Farmhouse Ales/Saisons are technically French or Belgain, they are a good option as well. I enjoy Ommegang Hennepin, Jenlain Biere de Garde and Cisco Farmhouse Ale (definitely not available in OH, but a trade might be worthwhile).
Cheers!
GO BLUE!!!

herb,
I imagine that you'll be able to find Stella in your area of Ohio sooner or later. They've been doing a big marketing push in several similar areas of the country (like my stomping grounds, SoCentral PA) lately. Almost every bar in the downtown area that i work in now has stella on draft and/or in bottle, that's after months and years of just seeing the same old swill everywhere.
I only tend bar Sat nights right now, but i've been selling a good bit of the stuff to a populace that loves its coors, miller, and bud light. Luckily, its not hard to get some to at least try stella. It's a good stepping stone beer like Sam Adams or New Castle, especially for those who want to get into belgian beers.
Now if i could only convince my boss to carry Chimay again...
(and get rid of the Sam Adams spring ale i still have sitting around...)

Alas I was incorrect. Id recomend you some other belgians but the list just go's on and on. Have fun with Stella. ;)

Don't you mean mike? I don't live in Ohio nor do I want Stella.
Maybe start with one of the more popular belgians, like Delerium Tremens or Hoegaarden. That is after you get the Artois you seek.

If in central Ohio you might check with the beer seller in the North Market on Front Street.
They sell an incredible range of beers and might be able to help you locate a distributor or sell it to you directly.
