Getting a good ice coating on everything here in southwest MO tonight. Fortunately Ive got a good homebrewed double bock to keep me warm. Not to mention some Skullsplitter barleywine and a glass of port waiting

We're supposed to get that today and tonight. Good time to stay in the house next to the fire, cuddled with the sweetheart and sipping beer all day long. Of course as I write this I'm drinking coffee to go to work.

Havin' a mug of the hot, black bitter stuff m'self this morning, but have the good fortune to be off for three days. Three days of gray, and rain, and freezing rain. My wife has already stocked us up with the emergency supplies, but I'm sure the sheep who didn't think about it earlier this week (the weathermen have been warning us of inclement weather) are now stampeding to the grocery stores and Wal-Marts to clean 'em out of batteries, milk, bread, and water. Hope to be home for the most part and avoid the megalomorons out there who have no clue how to drive on ice. Plenty of good selections in the beer fridge for later tonight. Given this weather, I may be dipping into the porters this evening...

Speaking of Missouri, that's some amazingly great news about the two boys. I hope this man makes some really "special friends" to spend the rest of his life with in prison.
To keep with beer only theme of this site, I'm about to have an Avery Jubilation to toast the good news.

While we aren't getting rain and ice here, we are experiencing some chilly temps. This morning it was -5 when I got up and when I finished brewing (outside) it was a balmy 6 above with a -10 wind chill. Nice to have a warm winter here for a change:D

Power's flickered a few times thru the day. Better than most I guess. News said 60-70 % of Springfield MO was powerless this morning, I know the little town where my local orchard is was dark too. Unfortunately the orchard was closed, so no juice or honey either one to brew with!

Trust me i worked at a prison for 13 years and saw a lot of "Friends" :D welcoming them to thier community. Now to the beer, as it is flooding here and giving me lots of problems as i am the only one that works for the town in water/sewer/etc. i wont get to a beer for a while until the rain is all run off and everything is pumped down but then i have a nice brown ale that is waiting in the fridge for me but everyone else enjoy one for me.

Haven't had the winter temps here in MA at all this season. Hasn't stopped me from enjoying all the locals' winter warmers though, including my own! Have enjoyed training for the Boston Marathon thoughin shorts and a t rather than the 50 layers i typically have to wear!
I'll also be enjoying Cisco's Celebration Libation as the Pats beat the Chargers today!
