Curious as to how many canadians are posting here. I'm from Victoria, BC.
Also are there any good canadian online brew shops that you guys know of? I'm looking for a source of used 15.5 gallon stainless steel kegs, really hard to find unless you want to pay through the nose or order from the US.

Cheers

try ebay....you might get a good deal on those if:

a) you're lucky

and

b) someone is selling them.

I'm from Ottawa, ON. Any on line ordering I do is usually done through the U.S. I have talked via email to http://www.amblesidebrewing.com seem like good people but they are in Vancouver, so I don't know why you would order onlinie from them...

My LHBS sells 5 gallon kegs for about $76 used...so it is cheaper to order from the U.S.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

$76.00 seems a bit high for the 5 gallon kegs, I have seen them for around $55.00 CAN in town and about $10.00 US on Ebay, but you factor in shipping and US $ conversion and it's not such a great deal anymore. Iam wanting to get my hands on some 15.5 gallon jobbies and use them as brewing kettles, *wife sneering vicously in corner* anyway, I'm going to check out Ambleside, they are in Vancouver and I'm in Victoria a 1.5 hour ferry ride away, so could be worth ordering from them.

Cheers!

I'm out in Calgary. For online stuff I use www.paddockwood.com which is in Saskatoon.

They advertise the 5 gal corny kegs, but not the large brew kettle type kegs.

I'm in Brooks, Alberta. I don't know about any online stores, I have to make the trip to Medicine Hat or Calgary to buy anything good. (other than what you can get at the grocery store.)

It's a great way to go if you can get your hands on some of these kegs, you can then do 10-12 gallon batches. Sabco industries Sabco Industries (http://www.kegs.com/) does some nifty things with them. I'll keep my eye out and if I come across any, I'll post it.

bigmf, Where are you shopping in Calgary? I shop at the Vineyard. I'm just wondering what else is available in Calgary.

Generally, I go to Prairie Brewers in the north-east (North and up the Hill from Franklin station). PB is my favourite store, but I'll also go to one of the Wine Kitz stores or (I forget the name but its on Southland Drive) if I don't want to travel all that way north.

I like PB because its one of the few that is tailored to brewers first rather than winemaking.
