I've got some Hawaii Beers coming in sometime during the first week in March. Anyone interested in a trade or know of what I should really be looking for? One time offer. Some friends of mine are vacationing there now and will be e-mailing me the specifics of their findings. If anything strikes me, I'm paying for shipping and away they go.

The beers that I was given were not very good.
Got only two, both from Kaua'i brews.
The "Gold" which wasn't to bad for a regular lager,
somewhat watery with a little bit of hops but not much really.
The "Sunset" was very watery and reminded me alot of any
macro brew water in a can. Nothing to write home about.
They did get me some awesome hand rolled cigars from
the islands that I must say are smoother and tastier then
the beers they got me.
Oh, well.
aloha and cheers

Ive lived on Maui for 15 years and we have never had good enough brews in the islands to write home about. Even the import selection can be pretty lousy, 2 places with decent selection is the hawaii liquor superstore in Kahului and the speciality beer and wine store in Paia. Aloha-

I was on the Big Island in June, and frequented the Kona Brewing Company a few times. I thought it was OK, but I agree that the Islands don't lend themselves to good brewing conditions. The water is off, and the temperature/humidity doesn't lend itself to optimal conditions. I think I liked their Fire Rock Pale Ale the best.

Yea their other beer is called something like longboard lager, the fire rock pale ale is better and it has more alcohol. I got sick of that beer pretty quickly though so I don't buy it anymore. :)
