In my meister I have a 1/4 of yuengling and a 1/6 of flying fish grand cru.
i have noticed that the faucets seem to get stuck from a lack of use and the beer kinda gets in there and jams up the works.
I really have to give it a tug and/ or take a wet paper towel and soak the faucet. then it works.
they are standard faucets not the ventomatic ones. So without buying one of those, is there anything else I can do to prevent the sticking.

keg lube will help a little, but those seat forward faucets really are amazing. start saving your nickels...

I'm using cobra taps until I purchase the seal forward type

i tried zoom's idea, then I got a headache the next day:eek:
i was thinking of the keg lube but wasnt sure if that was something that was appropriate for the faucets. I know that you use it for the O rings, but I will get some and try it w/ the faucets.
What are the Cobra faucets?

Cobra faucets are the little cheap hand held black plastic faucets. You leave them inside the kegerator and the never seem to get sticky, but you do have to open the kegerator every time you want a beer.

ah, now i know the ones. my neighbor uses one for his homebrew. I guess that he doesnt want to spend the $$ for a dual tower.

They're cheap and ugly but they do a great job. I have 2 hooked up in my spare beer fridge and I never have sticking or foaming issues with them.

I'm with Corky on this one. I had a dual faucet tower that I ended up selling because I hated taking the sticky thing apart to clean it. Oh! It used to gross me out bad, and far more work than they were worth. I am much happier with cobra taps. Leave them inside the freezer, they are the same temperature, no foaming issues. When I want to clean them, they are very easy to take apart and drop into a bucket of sanitizer. And if I have to replace them, they're CHEAP!
:D

. . . . yeah, sucks having to unplug a keg and pull apart a faucet to clean to keep from sticking, or to get the green mold out. . .that's why I splurged for the front sealing ones. . . MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. . .I can not speak highly enough of the advantages of a front sealing faucet.

I've been slowly improving and modifying my cheap best buy kegerator into a serious beer dispensing machine.
One of the first things I bought was a 3" draft tower and a completely stainless steel seal-forward faucet.
I LOVE IT. It looks good, stays clean, was a great investment.
Picked mine up from morebeer.

the ones that I want are brass. it would look kinda weird w/ a brass tower and stainless faucets.
i guess i will have to pull a little overtime to get them. although i just reshafted 2 golf clubs:(

When ordering some stuff from morebeer last night, I looked at the seal-forward faucets again. They do have "gold tone" faucets. 100% stainless steel, but plated with brass or something to make them fit in with a brass tower.
The nice thing is, the internals are still the all-important SS. So you might want to take a look at those.

thanks bd. I found some at kegworks. they are the ones that dont need to be polished. Brass is a pain in the azz to keep clean and shiny

I don't mind cleaning the faucets so much, to me it's actually the easiest bit of cleaning the beast.
