When it was brewed in Latrobe, PA, I thought it was a pale lager. But ever since it moved to the AB brewery in New Jersey, wikipedia.org says it's a cream ale. That's strange, because it still looks and tastes like a lager to me.

What it looks and tastes like to me is not printable on this board.
Oh well if you insist...
After quaffing some of the liquid the patron was noted to have said
.."I think the horse had diabetes".

It's not Rolling Rock anymore. I agree, what it is now is unprintable. It used to be a decent hot summer day beer.

If your question refers to style category, RR is a Standard American Lager.

Last time I tried one, about 5 years ago, I couldn't get through it. It tasted like chemicals. Rolling Rock earns the 'Chemical Fizz' label.

Your first mistake was to rely on wikipedia as fact. It's only as good as the people supplying the information.
RR is definitely still a lager.

RR is a standard post-prohibition american lager. It probably changed less than the big three's products did in the intervening years. What AB did to it since the acquisition I have no idea, but I have my doubts there's been any improvement.
