Greetings, fellow brewing brethren!! I've been in training in Richmond, KY the past 2 weeks and I have now noticed that I have fallen way behind on what's going on in the forums.
I also need to confess my sins, although they were committed by situation, NOT by choice. Richmond, being a college town, has not been well versed in the availability of finer ales and lagers. I have found myself many times being extremely thirsty for nice malt beverages, only to be staring at minimal choices from A-B, Miller, etc. I had Budweiser *choke* twice, Michelob Amber Bock *gag* once, and Sam Adams a couple times. I was able to score some Oktoberfest and Honker's Ale from Goose Island at a nice little establishment called Madison Garden. They also had Sierra Nevada Pale. The thing that sucks is that, in two weeks, I gotta go back down there for 2 more weeks of training. In the meantime, I have lots of reading to do. Just wanted to say "hey" to the dudes!!

For your penance you shall have to read the back of a bottle of Arrogant Bastard 100 times.
Peace be with you.

Hehe.........I may have to do that---it's the only way that I'll get good brew down there. I also plan on taking FastEddy's penance task one step further: my local beer mecca just got in a huge shipment of Stone Brewing. Think I'll buy one of each (at least).

I get INC Magazine and Stone Brewery was listed as one of America's fastest growing companies.
I'll have to try that out, any suggestions? Arrogant sounds like their staple product. How is the stuff? Good I'm sure!

I am a Stone Brewing virgin as well. I was a little short on cash the other day, but I picked a 22 oz. bottle each of Old Guardian Barley Wine, Arrogant Bastard, and 7th Anniversary Ale. The Barley Wine was this year's release, so that'll probably age in the cellar for a couple years. I've read many things on these boards about the Arrogant Bastard, so I've no doubt it'll be good!:)

After a week of fishing in BC Canada I understand you're "Falling waaaaaay behind" topic. There's something like 264 posts since I was last on here. Please note - I did not drink any A-B, Miller crap but I think I'll still follow my own penance just to be sure ;)
Arrogant Bastard is a deliciously complex hoppy beer. Sometimes I wish they would brew a special batch with less hops so it wouldn't cover some of the beers complexity.
Anyhoo - it's good to back.

Does anybody out there feel, as I do, that Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is a little better than Arrogant Bastard? Maybe I'm just prejudiced or something.... or maybe I got a bottle that sat too long in the light... not sure.

I'll let you know, Fretless, but it'll be a couple weeks at least before I get to trying my 1st bottle of Arrogant. Stay tuned...
