View Full Version : Unibroue Ephemere
This was an "ale brewed with apple juice, corriander, and curacao." It smelled great. Very juicy smell of apples and curacao. When I drank it, the taste didn't match the smell. It tasted very blan. I let it warm up a little and still nothing. It was a waste of $5.99 for the bottle. It kind of reminded me of a Wit, but with much less body and flavor.

I thought it was kind of light. Reminded me of sparkling cider (non-alc) with a splash of belgian pale in it...Seemed like it would be a good brunch brew.

Compaired to the other beers the Unibroue puts out it holds up just fine. Most people are looking for big belgians and lots of alcohol. It is a nice change. Problem is, is that you are looking for their usual instead of thinking of it in the style that it was brewed. In this sence is is well done.

I liked this one alot as well. I thought the aroma was heavenly! I've been trying to make a decent apple beer for a couple years now, the last one I made was similar to this (mine wasn't quite as good!) Anybody ever try New Glarus' Apple ALe? They don't make it anymore, but it was fantastic! It had more of a darker, sweeter taste, like baked apples...

I thought it was a great Summer brew. refreshing without having to be too light. Went down great at barbecues. Now It's getting cooler I'll be looking for their stronger brews again.
